MMD VS MMM

So seeing journals in art galleries DOES have a purpose. oAo Without that, I would have never heard of MikuMikuMoving!

What's MikuMikuMoving?

Supposedly,it is an 'advanced' version of MikuMikuDance produced by MoggProject. The features of MMM include a somewhat simpler interface and improved graphics. I say 'advanced' lightly, because it has a few bugs.

When I downloaded the software, as it turns out, it's not as simple.

I'll start with the good things about MMM.

You can use MP3 tracks as well as WAV files for MMM. If you have more than one model loaded, you can switch between the much faster.

Then of course, there's the bad part.

When loading a model, you MUST hit the enter key when the model info box appears. Otherwise, if you click the close button, it won't appear. There's no "Okay" or "Cancel" buttons.

There are no individual boxes for bone expression and face expressions. You have to switch between them through the icons for face and bones. There is no self shadow even though it is enabled. Ground shadow matches the background, hence the odd white shadow. Accessories and stages look darker when loaded onto MMM. There's no adjusting the screen size. Physics are turned off when you start it up, so you have to turn it on. The bones stay visible even after tweaking them, so you have to turn off the bone visuals manually with the bone button instead of clicking "select" again. When playing a preview of your motion data, you are simply pausing it. Hitting the Play button again will result in resuming the video. In other words, you have to wait until the whole motion is finished before you can replay from the beginning. If you want to go back to the beginning, you have to use the frame timeline to skip all the way to zero.

And the biggest thing is...

CAMERA. When I loaded Two-Faced Lovers camera data, it- and I quote Melty- was all "LOL, NOPE." It started from behind the model instead of in front like it normally would on MMD. And it kept doing so along with the normal camera movement.

This thing is still buggy, hence why it is ver. 0.3.1.0 alpha. It's not even ver. 1.0!
But alpha means it's the final version of that version right? Nope. It's lower than beta, not even beta! It's just software testing material. :/

Also, upon closer inspection of the layout, I noticed that there was something very familiar about it...
